The Band of South Australia Police – Concert Band

11am, Monday 14 October

The Shedley Theatre

The Band of South Australia Police commenced in 1958 and changed from Brass Band to Military Concert Band in 1974 and has an enormous following throughout South Australia.  With musical trends changing in modern times the Band has evolved with the addition of electronic instruments and vocalists.

The concert band includes multi-talented instrumentalists who double on woodwind, brass and percussion instruments to cater for a diverse range of musical styles. Several members of the band also specialise in areas such as sound engineering, musical arranging, and emceeing. Repertoire spans traditional military music, light popular classics, movie themes, Broadway songbooks and swing, featuring soloists and sections from the band.

Named in 2016 as a State Icon the concert band connects with communities all over South Australia building relationships and delivering safety messages through the universal language of music and entertainment. This is a great opportunity to see the concert band perform live at Shedley Theatre in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

Mixtape Australia

11am, Monday 11 November

The Shedley Theatre

Mixtape Australia is a spellbinding music-driven cabaret promising to take audiences on a nostalgic journey through six decades of Australian hits. The hits have not only captivated hearts but have also played a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s cultural identity. It’s easy to forget how many bangers there are until you have some of the biggest numbers jam-packed into a show like Mixtape Australia.

The vocally sublime Michelle Pearson leads her tight band through a sixty-minute journey of an epic collection of artists and bands. It’s amazing how many numbers can be crammed into sixty minutes, but Pearson has showcased a very impressive snapshot of the most influential songs from the Australian music industry.

Originating from South Australia, Mixtape Australia has been making waves across the country, earning accolades along the way. The show recently won the major festival award for music at the prestigious 2024 Fringe World Festival in Perth, setting the stage for its upcoming performances in Adelaide.

Known for her powerhouse vocals and acclaimed as Australia’s singing cook, Michelle Pearson steps out of the kitchen and onto the stage for this musical extravaganza. Audiences can anticipate a dynamic performance featuring classic hits from legendary Australian acts like Midnight Oil, The Divinyls, INXS, Tina Arena, Cold Chisel, and more.
